Assembly types

Assembly Types

Valeriana tests and services the three common types of backflow prevention assemblies. If you are not sure which one you have, send Bruno a photo of the device and its tag.

Reduced Pressure (RP)

Two check valves with a differential pressure relief valve between them. The test records the pressure difference across each check valve and the pressure at which the relief valve opens.

Double Check (DC)

Two independent check valves in one assembly. The test confirms whether each check valve closes tight or leaks, and records the pressure difference across each one.

Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB)

A spring-loaded check valve with an air inlet valve. The test records the pressure at which the air inlet opens and whether the check valve holds.
